The Catholic Foundation was established on August 17, 2000 to provide a solid financial future for the advancement of the ministries offered through the diocese and for other religious, charitable, and educational purposes. A Board of Directors administers the Foundation. Endowments were established with initial seed money from Bishop Kinney’s Living the Promise capital campaign held from 2000-2002.  Living the Promise Grants are now distributed each year for the following:

 

CATHOLIC FAITH FORMATION PROGRAMS FOR YOUTH

Grants assist parishes in developing innovative and attractive faith formation programs for youth in parishes across the St. Cloud Diocese. (up to $600)

CATHOLIC FAITH FORMATION PROGRAMS FOR ADULTS

Grants help parishes provide effective programs for adult faith formation including religious and lay faith formation teachers, catechists, youth ministers, parish outreach volunteers and our lay faithful. (up to $450)

 

CATHOLIC ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS

Grants enhance the faith formation and educational programs of Catholic elementary schools in the St. Cloud Diocese. Foundation funds available to Catholic schools will be issued according to the following percentages:​

• 50% as a direct distribution based on school population

• 50% based on the grant application process

Catholic Elementary Schools Direct (Non-Application) Grant

Living the Promise funds available to Catholic Elementary Schools each year will be distributed as a direct distribution based on Catholic Education Ministry Office school population surveys conducted in October each year. Licensed preschool program populations will also be included at 50% of the preschool population (i.e. 15 students of a licensed preschool program with 30 students would be included in the survey total for that school). The distribution will be issued in February of each year following the approval of the The Catholic Foundation Board of Directors. These dollars are to be used for scholarships and tuition assistance only. NO GRANT APPLICATION IS REQUIRED FOR DISTRIBUTION OF THESE FUNDS.

Catholic Elementary Schools Grant Application Program

Grants assist parishes with school expenses. ​Only one grant application per campus, including preschool, will be accepted. (up to $1,900)
