Apply for a Grant

Who can apply for a Grant?

Parishes and schools in the St. Cloud Diocese are invited to apply for grants. Parishes have the potential of receiving both a faith formation program grant for youth and a faith formation program grant for adults, but a separate application for each initiative must be submitted.

Please download the 2024-2025 grant application and submit completed applications via email to office@catholicfoundation.info.

 

Grant Application Deadline

Grant application forms must be submitted by Thursday, April 25, 2024

Grant Awards

Upon approval by The Catholic Foundation Board of Directors, grants will be issued in June. Grants received must be used within the following fiscal year ending on June 30.

 

The 2024-2025 grant amount breakdown is as follows:

  • Catholic Elementary Schools (One grant application per school) - up to $1,900

  • Parish Faith Formation Programs for Youth - up to $600

  • Parish Faith Formation Programs for Adults - up to $450

Grant awards will be determined based on the number of applications received and on available funds. The final Grant approval amount will be at the discretion of the Grant Committee.

Grant Criteria

Due to limited available funds, some restrictions apply and include, but are not limited to the

following:

  • Grants may not be used to fund diocesan offices or ministries, capital improvements or furniture, hospitality, refreshments, and travel expenses.

  • Individuals cannot apply for grants.

  • Grants may not be used to fund memorials for individuals.

  • No multi-year grants will be issued.

  • Grants may not be used for staff--salaries, teacher in-service, conference fees or continuing education.

  • Grants may not be used for retreat fees or mission trips – such as Steubenville, Castaways, TEC, etc.

Projects that fail to meet the criteria set forth will be disqualified.

Examples of Eligible Areas for Funding

Applicants are encouraged to be specific when filling out their grant applications. Examples of eligible areas for funding include:

  • Classroom Equipment

  • Technology

  • Curriculum

  • Textbooks

  • Library needs

  • Program/Project Development - Creative faith-based initiatives/projects that will move students to new ways of thinking

  • Speaker Fees up to $500

Grant Verification

Parishes and schools who received grants during the 2023-2024 fiscal year must complete the grant verification section on the application in order to be considered for a new grant.

Grant Acknowledgement

Parishes and schools who are recipients of grants are encouraged to publish acknowledgement of their grant in their parish bulletin, school newsletter, annual report, or other published means of acknowledgement.
